Australia's Premier Junior Tour

The DBR Australia 2012 Junior and Women's Canberra Tour will be held over the period Fri 6 July to Sun 8 July 2012.

 Roads closed for racing

The DBR Australia 2012 tour will be raced over roads closed to traffic and with speed limits on the roads reduced to 60 kph for those local people who need access to their homes. Check out the Stage & Results section of the website for courses and timings. Please note that the road race courses for the Open women/U19W and U19M have been extended from that of 2011 and will include a rolling road closure monitored by police.

Format

The DBR Australia Tour is recognised as a Category 1 NRS tour.  The Open Women and the U19W will be competing equally for points towards the NRS competition. The 2012 Subaru National Road Series also sees the continuation of team racing.

In 2012 the Open Women and Under 19 Men and Women's categories tour will include a Criterium on Sunday afternoon. The Tour for these categories is a four stage tour but the distance for the Sunday Road Race has been reduced to allow the inclusion of criteriums on the Sunday afternoon.

2012 will again have a flexible race format for the Open Women and Under 19 Womens and Mens categories. Riders will be able to choose to enter the Tour and race for GC, KOM and stage honours or enter individual stages and race only in stages of their choice. This option has not been extended to other Junior categories who will still need to enter the Tour and race all stages.

Women's B Grade

Women's B Grade will again be offered in 2012. See the event entry page for further details.

Para Cycling Time Trial

Race organisers also plan to offer the opportunity for Para Cycling athletes to participate in a Time Trial on Saturday morning following the last of the JM17 riders. The Para Cycling Time Trial will be open to any athlete 10 years of age or older and entry will be free. Riders will need to complete a Registration form (available here) and a Day Licence Form (available here) if you do not have a Cycling Australia or International Licence. Registration needs to be completed and returned to the Cycling ACT Office by Tuesday 26 June 2012. Download further information and contact details here.
